Patricia Wambui Mwaura, Artistically Known as Treesha

Treesha’s story is one of cultural heritage, passion, and personal growth. Born in Kenya, a country celebrated for its rich musical diversity, Treesha embodies the spirit of her homeland in every note she sings. Her name, meaning “Singer of Songs” in her native Kikuyu language, is a testament to the destiny she has embraced. Inspired by her father’s melodic guitar playing, music became more than just a passion—it became her calling.

From the age of eight, Treesha began to craft her own identity through music, first in school choirs and then in Nairobi’s gospel choirs, where she gained a deeper understanding of harmony and melody. Her move to Germany marked a pivotal chapter, balancing her career as a Medical Assistant by day with her blossoming music career by night, demonstrating her dedication and resilience.

In 2012, Treesha joined Gentleman & The Evolution Band, bringing her unique sound to an international audience. Her debut album, Listen, released in 2015, was a powerful introduction that showcased her versatility—blending genres like Reggae and RnB while staying true to her Kenyan roots. Her song “Rude Gyal Swing” topped the German MTV Urban Charts, cementing her place in the competitive German music scene.

Known for her dynamic live performances, Treesha has captivated audiences across the world with shows that are described as both powerful and intimate. Her ability to connect with diverse audiences through her energetic performances has solidified her reputation as a standout live performer.

During the creative period between albums, Treesha collaborated with renowned producers and artists, releasing singles that displayed her evolving sound. These collaborations helped refine her musical identity, harmonising her diverse influences into a distinctive and polished style.

Her sophomore album, Love, Scars & Attitude, is a testament to her journey. It intricately weaves themes of love, resilience, and aspiration—offering a window into her soul and highlighting her artistic versatility.
